Taco Bell is Blackpool's newest food offering, and we couldn't wait to give it a try 😋
Across a field, practically in the shadows of Blackpool FC's Bloomfield Road ground, is a box-shaped building splattered with a certain fast food brand's signature purple colour. Just like when you see those famous yellow arches and you instantly know a McDonald's restaurant is lurking nearby, when you see a neon purple, bell-shaped sign, it can only be for Taco Bell.
Now, this isn't my first-ever trip to a Taco Bell, which is famed for its Mexican-inspired menu packed with dishes popular in the Tequila-swigging salsa-crazy nation. Apart from the obvious tacos, there's quesadillas, burritos, nachos and seasoned fries.View gallery Today we're here to focus on one of the newest arrivals to the Mexican party - the Naked Chicken Taco . Now, it looks exactly like a taco, but there's not a floury soft or hard shell in sight.
If I were to pick my go-to fast food joint on the rare occasion I have a hankering for 'dirty' food, it will almost always be KFC, and I adore their zinger version of burgers and wraps. The sauce in the wild version of the Naked Chicken Taco was near-identical, and I could not eat it fast enough. I enjoyed it so much I ate it faster than you can say "chido". Which further surprised me considering it was 10.30am and I'd considered tacos more of a lunch or dinner cuisine and I'd half-expected to struggle to stomach it so early.
