GPA voice growing frustrations, claiming progress on a new female player charter is too slow.
THE GPA are preparing to mobilise their members - and have not ruled out strike action amid growing frustration at a lack of progress on a female inter-county players charter.
This would lead to female members receiving the same expenses as their male counterparts in an agreed timeframe. McAleese said she was “deeply encouraged” by the government’s commitment to the integration project and “looked forward to having one organisation based on equality.” Back in July protests were called off after the GPA secured an agreement from the Camogie Association and LGFA to approach the GAA for funds to bankroll a new player charter. The GPO’s Head of Finance and Operations, Ciaran Barr said: “We will be organised and we will be ready to mobilise.
Gemma Begley - the GPA’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager - said it had “gone beyond time for something concrete.”
