New Match of the Day host Kelly Cates has revealed what Roy Keane talks about when the studio cameras are turned off during Sky Sports ’ Premier League coverage.
Her new role won’t signal the end of her on-screen partnership with Manchester United and Ireland legend Keane, as she will continue to front Sky Sports’ weekend action.Cates told Oliver Callan on RTE Radio 1: “They are all really lovely to work with. Asked if she had any revelations about Keane, Cates replied: “He talks about his family a lot. He is just a really strong family man and he talks a lot about his wife and his kids and his grandchildren. It’s just really lovely to get that.
“I think that helps in a way to kind of try and bring out the best in them, because that’s a big part of my job, to bring out the best in the pundits. So the more you kind of know them as people, the easier that is to do.”
