"If the program has not been implemented and the litigation has not been resolved by June 30, 2023 – payments will resume 60 days after that," the press release said. The Education Department will notify borrowers when it is time to resume payments, and those with federal loans eligible for relief will not be required to pay off their debt in the meantime.The summer of 2023 should bring borrowers some changes to specific student-loan forgiveness programs.
