Here is what the bank holiday means for supermarket opening hours across Scotland
Some of the UK's biggest supermarkets, including Waitrose, Tesco and Morrisons, are set to reduce their operating hours next week to mark the Queen's funeral.
The late monarch's funeral has been declared as a bank holiday by King Charles III which has led to many people wondering what this could possibly mean for supermarkets and their opening times. It is thought that they will close their doors between the hours of 10 - 2pm, reports The Scottish Sun. While larger stores are set to close, smaller convenience stores are set to remain open as normal during the bank holiday to allow shoppers to get in their essentials.
Lidl has not yet confirmed their plans for next week, but The Daily Record have reached out for comment. Are supermarkets and shops required to close? Official government guidelines means that supermarkets and shops are not required by law to close on a bank holiday, though they can reduce their hours.
