The winner of the popular gameshow has decided to donate winnings by setting up an annual donation to My Sister's House, a nonprofit domestic abuse shelter in Charleston.
, she said she was going to use the money to set up an annual donation to a domestic abuse charity.
Savage appeared during"Big Money" week on the program, which allowed viewers the opportunity to play along in hopes of winning a cruise and a $5,000 prize. Though"Big Money" referred to the viewers, Savage certainly earned some"big money" of her own, winning $23,500 on the May 6 episode of the show.."I wouldn't exchange it for anything."
Though she told the newspaper that she was going to pay off bills, she would also pay it forward. Savage was a volunteer at My Sister's House, a nonprofitin Charleston. The organization's mission is to"break the cycle of domestic violence by providing comprehensive support, services, and education to our clients and community," according to its website.
Savage told the paper that she was going to use her winnings to donate every year to the organization—though she didn't reveal how much. She no longer is able to volunteer at My Sister's House, though—she's a Navy commander who left Goose Creek, South Carolina last month for her new assignment:
