Taylor Swift performing during The Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California in August this year The re-recordings are part of Swift’s reponse to the 2019 dispute over the ownership of the masters of her first six studio albums.
In 2018 she signed a deal with Republic Records, thus securing her rights to own the masters of any new music she releases.in November 2021 and April 2021 respectively.There will be 21 tracks on the album; among them will be re-recorded versions of 16 tracks from the deluxe edition ofSurprise!! 1989 is on its way to you 🔜! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th.
