Experts advise switching on central heating when temperatures consistently fall below 15 degrees Celsius, expected around the last weekend of October. They explain that it's generally more economical to heat only when needed, especially in older or draughty properties.
While the summer wasn't what we were expecting, we thankfully were able to avoid turning on our indoor heating for the most part.
