The Browns weren’t deceiving Mayfield when they said they fully expected him to be their starter in 2022, because they never anticipated all the QB movement and knew how tough it would be to get Watson in a Browns uniform.
Mayfield apparently took it to heart when GM Andrew Berry stated unequivocally after the season that “we fully expect Baker to be our starter and bounce back.
