From picking to carving, here's where you can get your Halloween pumpkins sorted this year
It's pumpkin season again and what better way to get set for Halloween than with a trip out to pick your own.
Families can grab a wheelbarrow and head out to pick their own pumpkin off the pumpkin patch before taking it to carving cavern to create their masterpiece. The event's running from October 12 to 31 and tickets - £17.50 for children and £12.50 for adults - can be booked online. One pumpkin included per paying child.Kenyon Hall Farm, Warrington Pumpkin picking is up and running at Kenyon Hall Farm from September 28 and open daily until October 31.
Families can grab a wheelbarrow and head out to pick their own, capturing some Insta-worthy moments with the photo props. It's suitable for children of all ages and farm staff will be in fancy dress helping to keep them entertained. Lancaster Park and Animal Farm, Oldham Pumpkin picking is including in the attraction's Halloween On The Farm event, which is back for 2024.
Open from October 11 to 31, there's no entry fee - you simply pay for the pumpkins you pick and these cost £5 each or three for £12. The patch opens from October 12 and promises 'an amazing line-up of activities for small and big children'. Tickets cost £5 and don't include a pumpkin. Activities and entertainment varies each day. Book on the website here.Haigh Woodland Park, Wigan There'll be hundreds of pumpkins ready for the picking at Haigh Woodland Park this year.Visitors can pick their own pumpkin from hundreds laid out within the event arena and be entertained by the various characters in costume.
There'll be hot drinks and food and a marquee with pumpkin merchandise, including carving kits and knitted pumpkins. This year there's a scavenger hunt for kids, photo opportunities throughout the patch - including a new tractor - and plenty of food offerings, including pizzas and burgers.
