Wholesale electricity prices declined by more than 40 per cent in January compared with December 2022, new figures showed.
Data from the Central Statistics Office also showed that on an annual basis, wholesale electricity prices were 20 per cent lower in January than in the same month last year. The CSO’s wholesale price index shows that while electricity prices fell in the 12 months to January, the price of many other commodities rose.
