Wholesale energy prices decreased by 16.2 per cent in May compared to the previous month and were 26.6 per cent lower than the same period a year ago according to new data published by the CSO. The drop follows a similar trend in April.
Producer prices for food products fell by 2.4 per cent in the 12 months to May 2023, while the food products, beverages and tobacco index fell by 1.8 per cent.
