A proposed quarry has been met with opposition by some locals
A rural Lancashire village has been flooded with yellow banners as residents protest against a proposed quarry. Many homes, farms and buildings across Preesall, near Fleetwood, are covered in the banners in opposition to the plans.
"It may even affect the length of my life because I am going to have to keep all of the windows and doors closed. I will not be able to use the garden in the summer, or at anytime I will not be able to go outside.The potential impact of silica and dust is not only important to Glyn and his personal situation, but he worries this could also impact other residents' health and the environment at large too.
This will not only be a problem for them as a business, but will also contribute to a much wider problem, as finding new homes for rescued dogs is becoming an issue in the area. The couple also told us that the plans are to build "buns", or banks of earth, around their property which will be relatively foreboding over the gardens and will impact their land.
