Another year looks set to go by with McGregor failing to fight in the UFC.
July of 2024 marked three years since Conor McGregor last entered the octagon, his biggest hiatus from MMA action since turning professional.
Between being hampered by injury and other commitments, McGregor has had his reasons for not fighting in the UFC. The former two-weight champion underwent surgery shortly after, and such was the damage, McGregor needed a metal rod inserted. Just weeks out from the fight, McGregor withdrew from his scheduled Dublin press conference at late notice, with fans fearing the worst. Soon after, he announced he would withdraw from the fight after breaking his toe.
The pair could not commit to full training camps while coaching in the series, dragging any talks of a fight further down the road.
