Maya Hawke kind of wants Robin to die in StrangerThings season 5. 'I would love to die and get my hero’s moment. I’d love to die with honor, as any actor would.'

Maya Hawke reveals her hopes for Robin in Stranger Things season 5, the final season of the hit Netflix series. After a three-year hiatus, season 4 was released in two parts earlier this year to record-breaking Stranger Things viewership on Netflix. The latest season of the hit supernatural series is split into several plotlines, all of which converge as everyone returns to Hawkins to help defeat Vecna, a new threat hailing from the Upside Down with past ties to Mille Bobby Brown's Eleven.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While Stranger Things season 4 goes bigger than ever before, it largely plays it safe in terms of killing off characters. Other than Dr. Brenner and Max, the latter of which was revived by Eleven, Eddie Munson was one of the most impactful deaths of the season.

Well, it’s the last season, so people are probably going to die. I would love to die and get my hero’s moment. I’d love to die with honor, as any actor would. But I love the way that the Duffer Brothers love their actors. The reason that they write so beautifully for me and for everyone else is because they fall in love with their actors and their characters, and they don’t want to kill them. I think that’s a beautiful quality that they have, and I wouldn’t wish it away.

Hawke's comments are in response to Millie Bobby Brown's criticism of Stranger Things' reluctance to kill off main characters. Earlier this summer, the Eleven actor jokingly called the Duffer Brothers "sensitive Sallies" and said Stranger Things should strive to be more like Game of Thrones, which is notorious for killing off beloved characters in shocking fashion. The Duffers even responded to Brown's criticism and defended the show's creative decisions.

Hawke's comments actually support the Duffers' side and help explain their aversion to major deaths, as they "fall in love with their actors and their characters." It will be interesting to see if, even in the final season of Stranger Things, the Duffers remain reluctant to kill off major characters.
