With rookie Kenyon Green out with an ankle injury, the Texans moved right tackle Tytus Howard to left guard to fill in.The decision seemed to work. The Texans, for the third consecutive game, didn’t allow a single sack.

Coach Lovie Smith said part of the reason he moved Howard to left guard was because of Kansas City defensive tackle Chris Jones, who has been one of the best pass rushers in the league this season. “Chris Jones, I think is as good a defensive player as there is in the league, so we thought that moving Tytus to the guard position would help us in a lot of different ways,” Smith said. “I thought that gave us a chance.”

Jones entered the game with 11 sacks this season. He finished the game with 11 sacks on the season, too.“I just tried to be the best I could be on every down,” he said. Smith said it was too early to tell if he’d continue that lineup. Green was limited in practice last week before he was ruled out. He could return on Saturday when the Texans face the Titans.
