Following her acclaimed debut in the Disney+ special, Werewolf by Night star Laura Donnelly opens up about her excitement for Elsa's potential Marvel Cinematic Universe future. Donnelly appeared in the Halloween special as Elsa Bloodstone, the daughter to the powerful monster hunter Ulysses, who is invited back to the family manor following his passing in the hopes of acquiring the mysterious totem the Bloodstone.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In a recent interview with The Wrap, Laura Donnelly opened up about her MCU debut in Werewolf by Night. When asked about the potential MCU future for her character, the Elsa actor noted that while she doesn't know any details, she is very excited about what could come from her return, teasing they've only scraped the surface of her comic book lore.
Yes, certainly. The thing that I love about this particular story for Elsa is that we get such a sense that we’re only at the beginning of something for her; she’s not introduced as the character that we know from the comics. It’s her pre-that, or maybe she has been that and something has happened — we don’t know. And so it does feel like it’s only this little taster of many, many layers that are there underneath and a huge backstory.
The future of both main Werewolf by Night characters has been up in the air since the Halloween special aired, with no confirmations coming from the stars or creatives at Marvel. The closest audiences have gotten of insight for their MCU futures has been Kevin Feige confirming that the supernatural realm introduced in Werewolf by Night is going to become "quite important" to the franchise moving forward.
The most likely place for Werewolf by Night's Elsa to return seems to be that of the Mahershala Ali-led Blade movie.
