Helen has broken out of the 'vicious circle' of being down and overeating and has dropped an amazing six stone - her driving force was to get to a goal close to her heart
A Wicklow woman has shared her inspirational weight loss story as she has dropped an amazing six stone.
Speaking to RSVP Live, Helen said: "When we met the transplant doctors, I asked what I needed to do to go forward and give my husband my kidney. They said, 'first of all, you need to lose weight'.""It took me a little while to get the courage to ring Lorraine, who runs it," said Helen. "She was lovely and welcomed me along to the next class. I went in and I stood on the scales and I have to say I got a shock! I had to lose a lot of weight.
Helen said it was the lack of restriction around the eating plan that helped her reach her six stone weight loss. "Before, I could feel the weight kind of suffocating me," Helen said. "Now I'm walking up stairs no problem, I can get out and walk our pups, I can physically do more around the house. My confidence has come up, and I find that I have a brighter outlook now.
