The most sought-after burger in SF is at Causwells.
After closing for two weeks in mid-September, the popular Marina restaurant Causwells reopened Sept. 27 with a bright blue-and-gold interior, an updated menu and a new cocktail program.
“When we were thinking about how to update Causwells, I always felt that there was something missing from the dining experience, it didn’t feel complete,” chef-owner Adam Rosenblum told SFGATE. “I wanted to get back to a feeling of people sharing food, ordering multiple dishes and fostering the sense of community that we had when we first opened.”
The American bistro, located at 2346 Chestnut St. in San Francisco, is known mainly for its Americana burger — a double cheeseburger with thin and crispy beef patties over a small mountain of shredded lettuce, thinly sliced onions and pickles all on a big and fluffy sesame bun smeared with a house sauce similar to thousand island dressing.
The new cocktail service, under the direction of Elmer Mejicanos, feels like a fun, new take on classic cocktails. “For me, this menu felt really personal,” Mejicanos said. “I pulled from a lot of inspirations — my childhood, my past and my sense memories.”The Savannah Thrill cocktail at Causwells in the Marina District of San Francisco.
