The 94th Academy Awards came to an abrupt halt when actor Will Smith took to the stage and hit comedian Chris Rock after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s short hair. Smith later won best actor, while Apple’s “CODA” took best picture.

The academy could take disciplinary action as soon as its next board meeting on April 18.
