MoonKnight producer Grant Curtis, who worked on Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, hopes Spider-Man 4 with Tobey Maguire happens. 'There were other stories within those movies that did not get told.'

Tobey Maguire hasn't had a solo Spider-Man outing since 2007's Spider-Man 3, but Moon Knight producer Grant Curtis hopes that Spider-Man 4 does eventually happen. For many fans, Maguire is the original Spider-Man. The 2002 film directed by Sam Raimi introduced Maguire's take on the character and would be followed by the critically acclaimed Spider-Man 2 and the divisive Spider-Man 3.

With Maguire's recent appearance in Tom Holland's Spider-Man: No Way Home, talk has once more been rejuvenated regarding another solo movie for the original Spider-Man actor. Much is left up to the imagination in terms of what Maguire's character has been up to for the last decade or so and many fans are understandably eager to explore a slightly older and more mature take on his Spider-Man.

"There were other stories within those movies that did not get told. I hope someday, as any Spider-Man fan would tell you, that all those stories come out and that narrative continues." Before Spider-Man 3 even hit theaters, Spider-Man 4 was in the early stages of development. At one point, the film even got a release date for spring of 2011, but issues with the script ultimately caused the project to be shelved and audiences instead got a reboot with Andrew Garfield in 2012. If Spider-Man 4 with Maguire had gone forward, it has been confirmed that Vulture likely would have been a central villain, in addition to a handful of other fan-favorite comics characters.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Maguire tells Doc Ock that he's"trying to do better," hinting that, much as he was in the first three films, he's still a work-in-progress. Maguire's Spider-Man doesn't give much away but does explain that, despite some ups and downs with Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane , the two have managed to make it work.
