17-time champion trainer has embarrassment of riches at his yard but believes one young horse could be still under the radar
The launch of the 2023/24 Irish National Hunt season was held at Willie Mullins’ Carlow yard on Wednesday where the all-conquering trainer paraded his awesome stable of stars.
His team of thoroughbred talent on show at Closutton included Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs and star novices like Impaire Et Passe and El Fabiolo, who both won at the Festival last March. Indeed he’s so convinced the six-year-old is going to be a star chaser of the future that he’s sending him straight over fences.
“Fact To File is the horse. With the move from bumpers to fences, I’m really looking forward to seeing him. He is a horse I really like and I thought he ran a cracker at Cheltenham,” said Mullins. The iconic Florida Pearl who won eight times at the highest level over fences, including four Irish Gold Cups and a King George.
