, nearly all departures and arrivals scheduled Friday morning have been canceled. A restriction on high-profile vehicles on the Ohio Turnpike takes effect at 6 a.m. Concerns about the weather have led to the closing of government offices, some schools and other attractions today, including Cuyahoga County Offices, Cleveland State University, and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
On Thursday, Gov. Mike DeWine and state emergency officials urged Ohioans to stay home during the storm. A winter storm warning is in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday. That’s because the wind will quickly build to a steady 25 mph by 6 a.m., with gusts to 45 mph. During the afternoon gusts will reach 55 to 60 mph. Wind gusts of 45 mph will remain possible overnight and into Saturday morning.
