Widespread high winds could cause damage along its path.Winter Storm Bankston is tracking east and will be a major, potentially damaging wind event from parts of the Plains to the Midwest and Great Lakes Wednesday into early Thursday. The storm will also spread more snowfall across the Rockies and Northern Plains.
Denver, Kansas City, Omaha, Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Chicago are among the cities facing this threat of high winds.High Wind Alerts Strong, gusty winds will increase through the day from the Front Range of the Rockies into the Plains. The high winds will eventually spread into the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes by Wednesday night.Wind-whipped snowfall will expand into the Northern Plains on Wednesday, including parts of the Dakotas and northern Minnesota.
