Wisconsin quarterback broke his right hand against and is out for the foreseeable future with an unknown timetable to return, coach Luke Fickell said Monday. Here’s what you need to know: Mordecai underwent surgery Sunday morning and had a pin put in the hand. Said Fickell of Mordecai’s timeline for a return: “That’ll probably just be left pretty much open for a little while. We don’t know a ton more about that. But this is one of those things.
“I think the biggest difference is just the experience,” Fickell said. “That was the beautiful thing about Tanner Mordecai is his ability to come in here, not just with his experience of playing, but his experience of being through so many ups and downs from his original stop at Oklahoma to SMU. Those things are invaluable. Braedyn just doesn’t have those experiences. So that makes it more difficult in some ways for him.
