Rock Run offers life-long sanctuary to horses in need. Our horses have a myriad of health issues, typically those associated with the aging process. We utilize holistic care in conjunction with traditional veterinary care to make them comfortable and happy. These beautiful souls deserve retirement; they are no less valuable due to their health, their inability to be ridden, or requiring sanctuary and care. They still have so much to offer humanity.
While ~$50,000 in yearly expenses is a large sum, EVERY donation adds up! A quality small square bale of hay is currently almost $7 each, and during the winter months, each horse can consume a bale a day . Yearly, we encounter large medical and feed expenses, in addition to hay costs. Gift cards are also wonderful! We purchase supplies from Amazon, Tractor Supply, Costco, Keith’s Farm and Dairy in Newville, and Knisely’s Feed in Carlisle.
