Budapest-based Wizz Air launched a subscription service last week which was branded 'a bit of a marketing scam' by the Ryanair CEO

Wizz Air has hit out at 'provocative and inaccurate' comments made by Ryanair CEO Michael O' Leary onThe budget airline launched an unlimited flight subscription service last week which would give customers access to unlimited Wizz Air flights for €499 per year."You can fly as often as you like but you pay €9 every time you book a flight and you can only book the flight three days before departure," he said.

Speaking this morning, Wizz Air Chief Corporate and ESG Officer Yvonne Moynihan dismissed his criticism."We have been overwhelmed by the extremely positive response to the new all-you-can-fly membership."There are no blackout periods or restricted destinations".Ms Moynihan said there is a small booking fee per flight."There are clear to terms and conditions, one of which is that members can book their flight within 72 hours - so three days - the departure of the flight.

"Currently sold out and we haven't released the figures yet," she said. The Budapest-based carrier does not currently fly from Ireland and Ms Moynihan warned that the country"would not be an attractive market now because of the passenger cap at Dublin Airport".
