Wolves have written to Howard Webb to ask for an explanation as to why their late goal in their FA Cup tie at Liverpool was disallowed.
Julen Lopetegui’s side thought they had gone 3-2 up in the closing stages of the FA Cup third round tie at Anfield.with Matheus Nunes ruled offside in the build-up. Referee Andy Madeley upheld the offside call against Nunes and Wolves have sent the club’s own footage to Webb – chief of referees’ body the PGMOL.
Lopetegui said: “Of course I have seen the images on the internet. I have my opinion, we have sent our comments and we are waiting for an explanation.“I talked after the match and now we have sent our comments but it’s very clear something has happened. “It’s important to forget all the Liverpool issues, the injuries and to put the focus on the match .”, Wolves and Liverpool will now have to play a replay to settle the tie on January 17, which will take place at Molineux.
