A woman has died following a two-car collision on a motorway in Co Laois , where gardaí and emergency services remain at the scene this evening.
The collision occurred at Junction 21 eastbound on the M7. The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene. “Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision on the M7 at Borris-in-Ossory, Co. Laois, this afternoon, Thursday 28th November 2024,” said a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána.
“The driver of the other car, a woman aged in her 50s, has been taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore to be treated for injuries believed to be serious but non-life threatening,” they added.
