The road was closed for much of the afternoon
A woman was killed in a crash on the A5 near Daventry last week, Northamptonshire Police has confirmed. The force is investigating the circumstances of the collision and has urged witnesses to come forward.
Officers closed a section of the road to allow emergency teams to work in safety. Meanwhile, motorists were advised to avoid the area and thanked in advance for their patience. The road was reopened just before 6pm. A female front seat passenger in the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
