A woman is set to be questioned after the bodies of two children were found in abandoned suitcases in New Zealand.
The 42-year-old from South Korea has been extradited as a murder suspect in a case which has shocked the nation.Police believe the victims had been dead for at least three or four years when they were finally discovered.
The identity of the suspect has not been publicly confirmed but South Korean police previously said she may be the mother of the victims. They also said her past address in New Zealand was registered to the storage unit where the suitcases were kept.South Korea’s justice ministry revealed she was handed over to New Zealand authorities on Monday evening at the Incheon international airport near Seoul.
A government spokesperson said: ‘With the extradition, we hope that the truth of the case, which has garnered worldwide attention, will be revealed through the fair and strict judicial process of New Zealand.’
