"It’s something that you certainly would not expect, it’s a major tragedy," he told the Irish Mirror. "It’s a shock to everyone… Mallow is lovely town and something like this is unheard of and unprecedented."The 31-year-old victim is understood to have suffered stab injuries. Gardaí are poised to launch a murder investigation but are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination.
