The wedding guest was disgusted at the rule and walked out - but people said she over-reacted
A woman claimed she walked out of her friend's wedding after seeing that the bride and groom had planned a food menu for men and a separate menu for women.
For the starter, men were served a mushroom risotto while female guests had prawns. For the main course, women tucked into grilled chicken and new potatoes and men were served roast beef, the Mirror reports.And for dessert, the men had a chocolate bomb and women had strawberry shortcake. Posting on Mumsnet, the woman wrote: "It was perfectly pleasant until we sat down to the wedding breakfast to see the menu was divided by sex.
She later found out from guests who stayed for the whole evening that women were given a piece of wedding cake while the men had a glass of whisky. While pretty much everyone agreed it was a ridiculous and offensive idea, many thought she shouldn't have walked out. Another replied: "A bit of an over reaction if I might say. What happened to couples doing what they want at their own wedding?" A third said the woman should have just laughed it off, writing: "That is utterly bonkers. We'd have had a bloody good laugh about it though and switched our food if we wanted to. I'd not have left."
