The Andersonstown Road was closed in both directions

A woman has been taken to hospital following a crash involving a car and a pedestrian in West Belfast .

One person was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment to their injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening, police said. between Kennedy Way and Finaghy Road North but has since been reopened.In a statement, a spokesperson for the PSNI added: "Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquiries, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 734 of 08/05/24.

"I want to commend the Andersonstown Leisure Centre staff and Council staff as well as people in the community who quickly stepped up for all involved during this. My thoughts are with everyone involved in this incident today." "NIAS despatched one Emergency crew, a Doctor, a Paramedic and two Paramedics to the incident. One patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by Ambulance."
