Vanessa O’Callaghan, a 36-year-old woman who was assaulted while using a soup kitchen service on Patrick Street in Cork city, passed away in Cork University Hospital on Wednesday. She was attacked by up to three individuals outside the former Savoy Cinema at around 8pm last Sunday. A volunteer from the 'Kindness Krew', Rosalyn Barrett, administered CPR at the scene before emergency services arrived.
A 36-year-old woman who was assaulted while she was availing of the services of a soup kitchen on Patrick Street in Cork city last Sunday has died in hospital.

I did it until the paramedics arrived. The ambulance operator could hear the commotion going on so they were there within five or 10 minutes," she said.
"We gave her a sleeping bag on Sunday night. Obviously she didn’t have a sleeping bag. God help her she didn’t even get to use it."
