Police have launched an investigation after the poster was placed in a bus shelter on Thursday.
An “outraged” woman who was wrongly linked to the PSNI on a poster has said she believes she has been made a target for an attack.
The poster was placed in the shelter weeks after the details of about 10,000 officers and staff were mistakenly released online in a major PSNI data breach. “I can categorically clarify that I am not a serving police officer and I have never been employed by the police in any capacity. Solicitor Michael Madden said: “The PSNI initially stated that those named on the poster are serving police officers.
“My client does not feel that the latest PSNI statement goes far enough to allay her concerns for her safety. Last month, details of officers and staff, including the surname and first initial of every employee, their rank or grade, where they are based and the unit they work in were released in response to a freedom of information request.
