After discussions, the ECA and FIFA came to a compromise, opting to retain that mandatory date of July 10 but offering a new non-mandatory release period between June 23 and 29.In a statement last month, the ECA said: “This new framework strikes the all-important balance between players having sufficient rest while allowing adequate time to prepare for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
