Staff at the Coolock branch say they got no notice the store wasn't opening this morning. It's believed it is one of four stores which didn't open its doors this morning iceland

Workers at an Iceland store in Dublin are staging a sit-in after they were told their jobs were gone.

Staff at the Coolock branch say they got no notice the store wasn't opening this morning. It's believed it is one of four stores which didn't open its doors this morning. Examiners were appointed at the Irish operations of the supermarket - which allows them to continue to operate while investors are found to save the business.Last week the Food Safety Authority recalled 'all imported frozen food of animal origin' from the store."We turned up for our work as normal."She'd been asked to leave the building.

“The business has gone into examinership and the store has effectively closed, but staff have not been told. They turned up for work this morning only to be told they have no jobs. This is an absolutely crazy scenario." Today FM News has contacted Iceland stores, the Department of Business and the appointed examiner for comment.
