'It's a joke mate'

Neighbours on a Nottinghamshire street have complained about repair work on a number of potholes, saying they thought speed bumps had been installed. Some residents said they had seen motorists actively avoid tarmac that had been used to fix the deteriorating surface at Kiddier Avenue's junction with Rolleston Drive in Arnold.

"I came back in the evening and what I thought to be a speed bump turned out to be a botched up repair," he told Nottinghamshire Live. "I was gobsmacked - it's like they didn't know how to do it, they got it so wrong."I don't understand it. There have been people actively avoiding it and trying to drive around certain parts, but they have no choice but to drive over it.

"It looks like a speed bump, doesn't it? Yesterday I drove out and I thought 'speed bump', it's a joke mate. I understand they have to rush the job as there are temporary traffic lights nearby and traffic comes past, but just stop it for two or three more minutes. Michelle Marsden, a mum who lives on the corner of the street, said: "I don't drive but it's an eyesore. It's the second time in as many months they've done the road. It's literally like a road hump.
