World Snooker Championship 2019 prize money: Hundreds of thousands on offer to winner

It is the event that all snooker players want to win. First of all for the prestige, but also for the tidy sum of money on offer for doing so.The man who comes out on top will take home half a million pounds - one of the richest prizes available for success on the baize.By coming runner-up, you only take home £200,000 - less than half of the amount of the person who has come out on top.

The losing semi-finalists, this year being Gary Wilson and David Gilbert, each take home a £100,000 payday. If you were to secure the highest break of the tournament on the TV tables, you will take home an additional £10,000.But perhaps the most attractive way of making some extra cash is to land a 147 break in the World Championship, with organisers putting the prize money up to £50,000 to go the whole way.
