The number of young women in Ireland being diagnosed with breast cancer is “worryingly” increasing, a new report has revealed.

Breast Cancer Ireland launched its first-ever Social Impact Report today to mark World Cancer Day. While more younger women are being diagnosed with breast cancer, survival rates are improving. CEO of Breast Cancer Ireland Aisling Hurley said: “Our mission is to transform breast cancer into a treatable illness for all diagnosed.

She added: “In recent months, we are seeing rising numbers of women contacting us for support and eagerness to share their story of diagnoses at a shockingly young age.
