Both characters originally belonged to 21st Century Fox until Disney's acquisition in 2019 opened doors to their inclusion in the MCU.
On the other hand, Jackman's Wolverine was a mainstay in Fox's X-Men series, featuring in nine films since his debut in 2000's "X-Men." However, Jackman's tenure as Wolverine concluded in 2017's "Logan," when the character met his end.
