The Xbox September update, which brings new features and quality-of-life updates to consoles, is now rolling out to all Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One users.
This month's update includes a fairly sizable list of features for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, including a new Microsoft Rewards tab, Discord game streaming, VRR updates, and more., you'll be able to see your Xbox Game Pass Quests and Microsoft Rewards balance within the new Rewards tab found under Profile & System. From the same tab, you'll also be able to hop straight to the redemption page.
This week, you'll also be able to start streaming your games to your friends on Discord by simply clicking the"Stream your game" on your Xbox. You'll need to have your Discord account linked to your Xbox to use the feature, but once that's set up, you can stream your game via voice channels. Next up is an update to Variable Refresh Rate on Xbox Series X|S consoles, which allows your screen to dynamically change its refresh rate based on the game's frame rate. With the new update, you'll be able to choose how VRR is enabled on your console via the Video tab in your console's settings: Always On, Gaming Only, or Off.
Other additions coming in the September update include the ability to ask friends if you can join their gaming session before joining a party, the addition of platform-wide voice reporting , and a new"Connect a Device" button within the Accessories app so you don't have to pair new devices to your console manually.
On PC, the Xbox app has been given a makeover with a suite of new additions, including a Starfield loading screen when booting it up. The game details pages have been given a bit of a performance boost, and a host of new fonts, button styles, and animations can be found almost everywhere within the app.
