Boone made the comment about the roof when a reporter asked him if he thought Judge’s ball, which had a 106 mph exit velocity and traveled 370 feet, had a chance to get out when he hit it. The wind was blowing out to left field and possibly knocking down balls hit to right a bit. Ironically, it's usually Astros fans complaining about the roofBoone’s postgame remarks drew mockery and memes in Houston, but Boone downplayed it before Saturday’s game.
“The comments I made, I just answered a question, I don’t know that I went in there commenting on something, I was just asked a question,” Boone said.“Obviously, it will be a little chillier here, but it looks to be a nice day,” Boone said. “Winds are always a little bit different day in and day out here.”
