A former soldier who was killed in a horror hit-and-run in Tipperary this week has been named locally as Tony Cullen. And another, Fiona Hickey, said: “I’m heartbroken, I knew him well. Used to cook him Christmas dinner every year. I can’t stop thinking about him.” Locals said they were devastated at the loss of Mr Cullen, who worked as a barman in the area and was well known in the village. He had spent his career in the Defence Forces before retiring more than a decade ago.
