SHAE IS A SUPERQUEEN! 🦸 The Marvel Cinematic Universe just became a whole lot more glamorous, with the addition of RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Shea Couleé to upcoming series Ironheart.
The performer – who reached the final of Drag Race season nine before going on to win All Stars season five and finish in third place in this year’s All Stars winners’ season – couldn’t be more psyched to be joining the MCU.
‘BEYOND excited to be strutting out of the Werkroom right into the Marvel Cinematic Universe,’ she tweeted after the news emerged. ‘Words cannot express how excited I am to be a part of this amazing project! Acting was my first love, and I’m thrilled to be doing it again in such a big way!’While Shea’s role is yet to be announced, fans and friends have been swarming the drag queen with an outpouring of congratulatory messages.
‘WOW ICONIC!’ wrote Drag Race UK star Bimini, while Jameela Jamil – who’s starring in She-Hulk – responded with a row of explosion emojis. ‘This is sooooo exciting! I never imagined my love of #DragRace and the #MCU would ever collide — but @SheaCoulee did it!’ one fan said.‘Avengers start your engine,’ another said, as someone else added: ‘Excited for SCCU .’The first glimpse of Ironheart’s Riri was shown in the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer, which was released to the world at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
