Luke Wilson said he couldn't understand why the two people he looked up to the most had both committed suicide
A devoted dad took his own life after struggling to come to terms with the suicides of two men who had acted as father figures to him.
On May 1 of this year the couple had an argument and Demi told Luke she needed some space. The following day Luke sent Demi a message on Snapchat which showed him sat in his car with an items she suspected he intended to use to take his own life. An inquest at Cockermouth Coroner's Court today heard that Luke's relationship with Demi had been 'volatile' and occasionally 'toxic' as he was paranoid and suspected her of having cheated on him.
Later that afternoon, Luke dropped Romy off with Demi at her home in Workington, at around 2.55pm. Just over an hour later his body was spotted by Ben Smith who was onboard a train passing through Harrington. Luke was treated at the West Cumberland Hospital but he was diagnosed with an irreversible brain injury and treatment was withdrawn. He went on to become an organ donor.
