Young Offenders star Chris Walley confirmed they have filmed season four and teased a challenging season for his character. The comedy series wrapped up filming for its eagerly awaited new season this summer, with the arrival of season four due in 2024.
The Irish star, best known for his role as tearaway Jock O’Keeffe in the Cork comedy, said he had a ball reuniting with cast and crew. While camera crews were seen in several well-known spots across Leeside over the past few months, giving fans a rough idea of what they can expect to see in the new episodes, he told The RTE Guide: "I can’t say too much about it apart from that filming has finished." Four seasons and a film later, the 28-year-old says he knows Jock ‘like the back of my hand’ but said he still brings him satisfaction. Teasing some twists and turns to come for his character this season, he added: "He’s almost like an extension of me now but there are challenges there too, as you’ll see soon enough." The award-winning star, who has bagged an IFTA, BAFTA, and Olivier award for his work on the stage said acting brings him ‘joy’ and told of his drive to continue to find new challenging roles too. "All you can ever want as an actor is to play as many different parts as possible. Not only because it’s interesting to you but also for the challenge, because ultimately that’s how you get better. And now I want to take as many challenging jobs as I can; jobs that are daunting and stretch me as an actor."
