A number of items were also stolen from the park

Huge groups of youths have been responsible for thousands of pounds worth of damage in the county in recent days.

Children around the county have been off from school during recent weeks for Easter half term. But Lancashire Police say during that time, £1,200 worth of damage has been caused by youths.Between 6pm and 9:30pm on April 15, a group of 15 to 20 youngsters vandalised an ice cream van. The youths also stole a number of items from Williamson Park in Lancaster with around £1,200 worth of damage caused.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Parents, did you know what your children got up to in the Easter Holidays? On the 15th April between 1800 to 2130 hours 15 to 20 youths damaged an ice cream van and stole a number of items from Williamson Park.
