A 49-year-old man was arrested near Donald Trump's California campaign rally after being found with a loaded shotgun, handgun, and high-capacity magazine, as well as multiple fake identification documents. While the Riverside County Sheriff believes the arrest may have stopped a third assassination attempt, federal law enforcement officials say there is no indication of an assassination plot at this time.
A man found with loaded guns, ammunition and fake identification documents has been arrested near Donald Trump ’s California campaign rally.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco told a press conference on Sunday his deputies probably"stopped the third assassination attempt" – however, a federal law enforcement official has said there is no indication there was any assassination attempt at this time.Sheriff Bianco said his deputies became suspicious when the man approached the perimeter.He said his officers"noticed the interior of the vehicle was in disarray and had an obviously fake licence plate".
